• Conversational Hypnosis for the Real World – Ask Your Questions

Conversational hypnosis isn’t about having Svengali like powers to manipulate others, it’s about being able to connect with people on a level that matters, and effectively motivate them by using emotion and the imagination.

Using conversational hypnosis, you can help people create lasting transformations, get your point across, and communicate with real impact so that people can’t help but pay attention.

I’ve set aside some time at the end of this week to create an audio recording answering your questions on conversational hypnosis – make the most of this to score yourself some free conversational hypnosis training!

What is it that you want to learn about using hypnosis within everyday conversations to persuade, influence, motivate and help others?

Comment on this blog post with your questions, and I’ll then create an audio recording this week answering your questions and giving you some tips and ideas, which you’ll have free access to very soon.

So, what do you want to know, and what do you want to learn how to do?

Share your conversational hypnosis questions here, and then check back soon for the audio recording with your answers!

    Cheers,
    Nathan Thomas

    PS

I did a similar Question and Answer style post a couple on months ago on Street Hypnosis, and it was a hit - click here for the recording with the Street Hypnosis answers – it’s jam packed with useful, practice insights and techniques.

Thanx for doing this Nathan! I was on the Street Hypnosis one and learnt loads. My question is: What is the difference between conversational hypnosis, covert hypnosis, and NLP. It would really be awesome if you cleared this up for me!

What are some of the most effective techniques of conversational hypnosis? How do they work? Can stammering, stuttering, or fumbling for words ruin the progress that your conversational hypnosis has made thus far in a conversation?

Hey Nathan. I am interested in Mesmerism with Marco Paret. If I learned both covert hypnosis and mesmerism how much more powerful would it be. Also I have Igor’s program and I have been learning as much as I can but it seems that I really need to be with the “teacher” to learn. I feel like I would learn if it was hands on learning because it seems more interactive. Note: I bought the reframe book from you and it has helped me a lot. I am better now but is bootcamp with a hypnosis master recommended. I have too many questions but that will be for now?

Hey Nathan, I was wondering what age of children can do hypnosis? My 11-year-old is interested in hypnosis and I was wondering if it was possible :) Also, I’ve been trying hypnosis as well but I can’t help feeling nervous when I try to hypnotize someone. I bought The Confident Hypnotist, but no luck so far… Could you help me out?

Hi Nathan, Conversational Hypnosis is not as simple as it looks. I’m trying to use the “story within a story (within a story)” technique with one ore more added suggestions, but unless you’re a natural speaker, this isn’t a simple thing to do. Are there other ways, besides practicing a lot, to make this technique easier to use?

hi i do understand that my question may not be published but my question is how long can someone be kept in a sleep state under hypnosis. is the time indefinite if the hypnotist is still speaking or giving suggestion or will they awaken at a sertan point regardless of suggestions. my true question is what i the record someone has been kept in a deep sleep stade of hypnosis.
i must note that i dont plan on doing anything sinister i just want to have a better comprehension of hypnosis

Ok first things first thank you for doing this I loved streethypnosis Q&A this one will be awesome as well I bet.
I find it kind of hard to find the ethics line, meaning I once more than once acetually tried to persuade someone to an iedea which would be useful to em financially, yet as he told me his objection, I did not push the matter further basiclly because I felt like I would be manipulating him (I am preety sure thats the reason), so I accepted his objection and went off, so how do I get rid of that felling of pushing people into something?
And plus yes 2 questions sorry :) , If theres someone in my circle that has an issue like a lousy romantic relationship that causes harm to both parties in the long run, should I direct him to an end, same goes for lousy habits, I am really confused with the ethics of influence in regard to some areas ever since I first started with this. Thanks a bunch.

If I had to put each and every one of my questions here, this recording will last forever (; main one is :My request may be a bit odd. We always talk about fractional rapport -pushing pulling. I think I may abused it to some degree, or maybe over pulled with a person that was super difficult to build rapport with. Now from disinterested she became way over interested to a level where it harms her. I’m constantly looking for more information about releasing..subtle release.

I am also looking for techniques to improve my state of mind ..I need to be in a complete relaxed , dis-attached frame state so I could play better with my tonality/body language/massage that i’m sending ..not falling to the outside world pressure… realistically can it be done?
      Thank you!

Hi Nathan, I am interested in learning how to motivate a group of people who have had a negative experience together and are stuck in a negative (pessimistic) mind frame. How can I change their perspective to a more positive one? I can change a few peoples perspectives, but this is a rather large group and their negativity seems to be feeding off one another, undoing any “work” that I have already accomplished with a few individuals. Any advice you have would be appreciated!

Second, you know that you was doing a great work with Igor L. so can you explain how can we use MBL (Mind Bending Languaje – Quantum field) questions and phrases elegantly (not too confusing and without sound too weird) and still create a power effect into the mind of anyone ?

Hey Nathan, I was wondering your opinion on the importance of using the person you’re hypnotizing’s language versus your own.

If it is of great importance to use their language, what are ways to pick up and imitate their language?

I’m using “language” here as in vernacular.

Hi Nathan, great idea, thank you.

My question is relating to outbound calls to a lukewarm vs. a cold list. I feel a personal resistance to getting to the heart of the matter too quickly–asking a compelling question about the prospective clients pain. I have had challenges with assumed rapport in the past and have been given mixed coaching about agenda driven calls. My service, coaching/change-work is my offering, and it is powerful and good. So is there a conversational hypno way to close this gap between “Hello how are you?” and “This is the purpose of my Call?”

Would something as simple as “I want to respect your time so tell me what is your biggest challenge with your (business, goal, team, happiness) right now?”

      Looking forward to the recording.

      Jack

      Hi Nathan,
Is there a way to plant a metaphorical thought bomb within you that can at any moment in time now create a feeling that a fuse has been lit, and you can smell that burning desire that glows as molten sparks race towards an unstoppable acceptance that a growing fast moving and ever expanding realisation has exploded within you now that shatters a limitation you had not noticed you had, had, hadn’t you?

      Hi Nathan,
I hope you’re well. My question is, “Is it possible to get a person into ‘hypnosis’ with their eyes open? Is conversational hypnosis like this or is it simply able to be used as a tool to motivate, influence, and persuade people?. In a nut shell, how powerful is conversational hypnosis. Is it like regular hypnosis in the sense that you can get people to do what you say?”

      Thanks!

Hi Nathan, I have 2 questions: 1)How does CH work? 2) I understand that in order for hypnosis to work effectively there needs to be a level of expectancy in the person you are hypnotizing. Since CH is primarily covert, how is this level of expectancy accomplished in the person you are hypnotizing?

Love your work, thanks for the ongoing info and encouragement. (I Just finished reading “Learn how to hypnotize anyone and practice Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Correctly” yesterday, first book I’ve completed 100% in just over 20 years).

My question is this: I have Aspergers Syndrome, but with very high coping tactics (most people wouldn’t pick up on it), but I still have problems reading body language, cues, tonalilty, etc, which seem to be very important as a feedback while doing hypnosis, is there anything that could help a situation like this?

I haven’t read all the comments so please forgive me if I duplicate.

      1. Any tricks for job interviews, so they really want to hire you or at least move you onto the next level? That is one situation I definitely don’t want to be pegged as a weirdo.

      2. I tend to get intimidated by bosses and higher-ups both on interviews and later on the job. How can I overcome that (without being inappropriately chummy), stop getting tongue-tied around them, and engender their confidence in me?

      3. Any pointers that we can adapt to any conversational situation, to give suggestions without seeming weird? Should we rehearse important conversations to ensure getting the words just right? Is it more what we say or how we say it?

    • I totally agree with this blog post.
Hypnotism is best medication considered so far which actually helps one to have control over their sub-conscious mind and therefore, to increase confidence and will power. One should actually learn the techniques of self-hypnotism or indulge themselves with professional hypnotherapist for their self-improvement.
