How to Improve Your Communication Skills Easily and Naturally.
In under two weeks time I leave for my first ever trip to China.
Myself and a friend will fly into Shanghai, and spend a short two weeks exploring the worlds most populous country.
In preparation for the trip (and hopefully many future journeys) I’ve been spending the last 3 months *trying* to learn Mandarin Chinese.
What a nightmare! For an English speaker, the language is a huge challenge.
Think about this:
When learning English, every single word is comprised of arrangements of the same 26 letters.
In China, to read a simple newspaper, you need to have memorized over 3000 characters!
Unlike learning French or a European language, between English and Chinese there is naturally very little overlap. So as you can imagine, it’s a massive challenge!
And it’s one many people encounter when learning to speak hypnotically.
When you are training yourself to speak to the subconscious mind in a persuasive, captivating and interesting way, you brain has to do a bit of rewiring.
At first, it all seems like too much as your conscious mind struggles to do everything logically and rationally.
At this stage you may look at other hypnotists and master communicators and ask yourself “How will I ever be as good as them!”
That’s where I’m at with Chinese now!
But, learning how to speak in new ways and communicate on different levels can accumulate gradually.
The more you learn, the more the pressure builds up.
Eventually the dam bursts, and you’ll be speaking like a master hypnotist without even having realized it!
A good friend of mine recently went to France on a business trip.
He’d been learning French on a off for years, but he was not that confident in his ability to speak it with the locals.
One night in his hotel lounge, he found himself striking up a conversation with a stranger.
They had an enthralling, passionate conversation about politics, music, sport – you name it!
When my friend was heading back to his hotel room that night the truth suddenly struck him:
He had been speaking French the whole time – without realizing it!
If you feel the pressure of trying to improve the way you communicate and speak more persuasively and hypnotically, you can relax.
Keep at it, and eventually the flood gates will open, and everything you need will come flooding through.
As I study Chinese, it’s important to continually remind myself of this – and I thought you might find it useful as well.
I’ll see you soon!
Cheers,
Nathan Thomas

How true, the power of persistance.

Exactly! People don’t always realise that they’re making progress without even noticing it.

Visit my WebsiteSo true. When my daughter and I were waiting in line to enter Il Duomo in Florence, I heard a priest explain to a couple of Swiss women why the line was moving so slowly, when we were all scorching in the midday sun. I turned to my daughter, seeing she hadn’t heard, and told her what he had said. She told me that the reason she hadn’t heard was that he was speaking Italian, which she doesn’t speak. Well, neither do I, just a little Spanish.

Well, it looks like chinese character can not display correctly here.
I’m your chinese reader Nathan. My english is as good as your chinese. haha~
So during 2010 I started to read your mails to practise my english reading. Because for me hypnosis is a interesting topic.
I heard about hypnosis can help people learn new skills. One of the hypnotist claimed that time distortion could give you more times to practise. I don’t know if it is true or not. But I do believe that hypnosis could help learning in some way.

Visit my WebsiteHi Nathan,
I’ve been reading your emails for a while and since I also have been learning other languages (including Mandarin) thought I’d point out an approach that seems to work well for me.
1) I’m using the Pimsleur Approach (it works for me)
2) After being fairly comfortable begin listening to DVD movies you know the lines to in the new language, helps you accustom your ear to the normal speed, tone, and inflection of the language without getting lost.
3) Once comfortable keeping up with the language, engage someone (go to a Chinese restaurant that’s what I do) it’s remarkable how many people actually speak the language and appreciate your taking the time to speak their native tongue.
4) through out use hypnosis to establish your own confidence in knowing what you’ve learned and that you’ll use it easily when the moment to is presented.
Hope this helps and enjoy the trip!
Mike
