>When I was just starting out in hypnosis I came across a man called William May.
I spoke to him for some time, and soon came to realize that he was unusually good at covert hypnosis.
He taught me how to move beyond the ‘standard’ method of doing things, and look at this stuff in a new way.

And he certainly had some adventures.
I remember one time he told me about when his friend was always having trouble remembering things.
You know what it’s like when you just forgot something you know your ought to know.
But with this friend it just kept happening.
Where she put her car keys, what she had to do today, what she had to do tomorrow…

It was becoming quite a problem.
Now, Will, being quite a crafty hypnotist, could have just run a few patterns and told her she had better recall and access to her memory, he could have done a quick induction and thrown in some suggestions, and hoped they worked, but Will, being an innovator, decided to push the envelope.

If you were watching the conversation they had, you would have noticed him speak to her for just a few minutes, innocently.
As they talked, you would have noticed her seem to become distracted.
To start looking over her shoulder, as if she was trying to see something, but you knew there was nothing there.

Then you would have seen her look again, a look of wonder and fascination on her face at what she had allowed her mind to create.

You see, all Will had done was to give her access to the true resources of her own mind.
He had created for her a dog.
To her this dog was completely real, even though she understood it was a creation of her mind.
And whenever she forgot something that she knew, this dog would simply bark softly in her ear, and remind her.

Imagine having your own little dog with you, telling you everything you needed to know.

William bases many of his innovations on the work of Milton Erickson.

The way Milton used to just talk to people, and in the course of an innocent conversation, they would become cured.

Milton himself was quite a cheeky hypnotist also.
At the hospital where he worked he received a fair bit of ridicule for being a hypnotist.
Other doctors didn’t understand hypnosis, and they would just laugh at old Milton.

Well, at first.
These same doctors who laughed at him would often find themselves standing, catatonic, in the middle of long hospital corridors for hours on end, with no idea how they got there, unable to move, their right arm outstretched, almost as if they were about to shake someone’s hand…

For literally years I kept telling Will to create a course of his own.
Will was tempted, but he told me he couldn’t because he was scared.

It’s all very well learning a few pattern interrupts and language tricks, but to really learn this stuff properly does give you power, power that in the wrong hands can be misused.

Will is, in my opinion, one of the best kept secrets of the hypnosis world, and the reason why he has kept such a low profile (but has been behind the scenes in more places than you’d expert) is because Will is one of the most ethical guys I know.
He always uses this stuff to help others and to make the world a better place.
But how can we be sure everyone who learns this stuff, the people he teaches,  have the same responsibility?

Well, when it comes down to it, it’s up to you. The fact is if you use these methods to harm of rip off others, in the long run no one suffers more than you. But if you use these techniques as a force for good, then you and everyone around you benefits.

After a lot of nagging and persuasion on my part, Will finally agreed to release his most interesting methods and innovations to the public.

I cannot tell you how excited I am by this.
The innovations he is releasing really are breath taking.
